Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting provides high reliability and performance by combining powerful web servers, high-speed connections, and a non-shared environment.  Whilst the server is dedicated to hosting just a single website, the server is managed 24x7 by Lantek, ensuring superior uptime and availability. Dedicated hosting also allows for the provision of 'high availability' using a cluster of servers in a load balanced configuration (see diagram to the right). Incoming web requests are directed to different physical servers to help manage capacity and load. In the event of a server failure, another server is available to continue serving web requests. This type of hosting is particularly suited to high capacity websites where a single server would not be capable of handling the load, or when very high reliability is required for mission-critical sites and applications. Shared Hosting Shared Hosting uses the concept of hosting multiple web sites, on a a shared server. By sharing the server resources amongst several web sites, costs are reduced and allows a powerful hosting platform to be affordable to small businesses. While our shared hosting solution does involve multiple websites on a single server, it should be noted that we use a very low ratio of sites per server. Typically 10 sites maximum would be hosted on a shared platform. The industry normal would be upwards of 1000.
